Chat via Claude

Via Claude Desktop or Claude.ai you use Power BI Agent as a tool in your own Claude environment. You need a Claude subscription and a connected connector. See Connect Claude if you haven't done this yet.

Start an analysis

1. Open Claude Desktop or go to claude.ai.
2. Click + (tools menu) and select Power BI Agent.
3. Type your question in plain language, e.g. "Show the liquidity ratio for the past 12 months."

Anonymization

In this mode, fields set to pseudonymize in Masking are anonymized instead. Claude only sees the anonymized value and cannot use it for analysis. The anonymized values are also shown in the chat itself. Use portal mode if you want to see the real values in the chat.

Datasets

You only see the datasets the owner has assigned to you. Missing a dataset? Ask the owner for access.
